"IT'S MUSIC FOR LIFE"
WHAT WE DO
TUNING MINDS is a charity-based organisation that focuses on benefitting people's mental health and general wealth fair through learning to play an instrument. You can be prescribed by your local GP for this service.
We work to help others struggling with mental health issues, via giving you an option of what instrument you would like to learn with the helping hand of our 1-1 tutoring system which is currently online due to COVID-19.
OUR CAUSES
It Starts With the Will to Make a Difference
HELPING YOUR MIND
Playing music is like doing a workout for every part of your brain. It helps improve your mental performance and memory. There’s even evidence that music can help a patient’s brain recover from a stroke, as well as slow the onset of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
MUSIC FOR THE PEOPLE
Music is also proven to help tremendously in social situations, including work environments, friendships, and even more involved relationships. The training that the mind and body go through to develop musical comprehension is the same as the training required to develop speech and verbal skills, essential components in
any relationship.
MEET NEW FRIENDS
Making new friends can be an enriching and rewarding experience, no matter how old you are. When you connect with someone, laugh about something together or share the same interests, there can be something really fun and exciting about it.
For social and emotional learning, it’s important for our children to make new friends. Friendships enable kids to learn more about empathy, communication and self-esteem, as well as turn-taking
and sharing.
“If I were not a physicist, I would probably be a musician. I often think in music. I live my daydreams in music. I see my life in terms of music.”
